And just like that, it's May again…

Marking a full year of the website’s monthly updates, providing not only current information but also insights into what’s ahead for Clement Leadership Development.

Personally, professionally, and academically, it’s been another full and rewarding month—welcoming the beginnings of new projects and honouring the endings of meaningful chapters.

Once again, we've had the pleasure of spending another fantastic month working with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) completing the final module of the leadership programme with our second cohort. This month, we focused specifically on the importance of system leadership and how it manifests within their organisation. We also delivered a 2-day course on Complete Staff Works—a highly relevant and timely programme that complements the broader theme of system leadership. As always, working with these cohorts is not only a pleasure, but also a privilege. Coaching reminds me that leadership is not merely taught—it is a multifaceted quality, cultivated through experience, emotional intelligence, and the willingness to both lead and be led.

This month we've also worked alongside the Skills Development Network South East, delivering Introduction to Strategic Management. This course highlights the value of understanding strategy—how it shapes mindsets, drives business planning, and cultivates a values-based culture. The programme prompts leaders to shift their organisational perspective and reflect deeply on how their approach can evolve and improve.

A major focus for 2025 is the development of our Women in Leadership programmes, which I’m proud to say we’ve been building in collaboration with Helen Davis , who will be facilitating the sessions throughout 2025/26. These programmes are particularly special to us, as they support a wide range of women—not just senior leaders or coaches, but also aspiring leaders at the beginning of their journey. We believe in fostering leadership from the outset, and these programmes aim to empower participants with the knowledge, confidence, and insight to thrive.

These monthly updates not only allow me to share what’s new with Clement Leadership Development, but also offer space for personal reflection—a practice I so often encourage in others, yet sometimes forget to prioritise myself. They serve as a valuable reminder to pause and take stock of just how far we’ve come. While it’s important to look ahead, taking a moment to look back is equally powerful.

May hasn’t just been a successful month professionally—with new journeys beginning—but also personally significant. Katie, our digital media lead, submitted her dissertation, marking the end of her final year at Newcastle University. We’re incredibly proud of her and look forward to celebrating her graduation in July.

As June approaches, we’re excited for what lies ahead. Meeting more professionals, exploring new opportunities, and most importantly, continuing to build genuine connections with brilliant people—expanding our network and deepening our impact.

As always, feel free to reach out for an informal conversation about how we can work together.

All the best,
Will
